DOLCE & SALATO

On account of needing more time for recovery, I've had to cancel the two upcoming concerts at the end of this month in Oslo and Helsinki (Philip will instead just do solo performances there) and while that's bad enough, to make things rather worse, the long planned and much anticipated two week vacation in Italy has had to be cancelled.

Italy is such a beautiful fascinating country and has been a memorable backdrop to so much great dramatic literature and film. It seems you can separate it all into two distinct categories of narrative: the soft focus dreamy romantic (for instance, E.M. Forster's A Room With A View and others), or the shadowy and deadly (Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now and Ian McEwan's dark novel The Comfort Of Strangers come to mind).

"Don't Look Now"... that film scared the fuck out of me. I had no idea what it was even about going in. In fact, looking back, I saw it in college, at a film class, it was the very first class of the semester actually, an evening class. The ending really freaked me out. So after leaving class with that on my mind I had to walk back to my car, which was located in a parking lot behind the dorms that was only accesible via a shadowy pathway flanked by trees on both sides, and not only was it night but there was also fog everywhere. I tried to watch the ending again on Youtube recently but quit after a few seconds. It's weird that the film disturbed me so much as I usually don't get freaked out very often (at least when it comes to movies).

Well, if you will insist on attacking Genesis P-Orridge, don't be surprised if you fall from stage!

Twinkle toes, maybe during your recuperation it would behove you to do some introspection and consider bringing Peter Sotos back into the fold - you certainly havent produced a work worth listening to since his departure.

Seems like someone else noticed the grammatical faux pas. I nearly felt sorry for Phil for a second.

Missing out on a much-anticipated holiday must be quite a blow to you, William. All I can say is that I wish you well in your recovery, so that you can get yourself over to Italy in 2008.

what a bastard. Italy, fuck yeah producers of some of my favorite things: wine, horror and disco.

not being able to go must suck balls.

film wise Fellini, Pasolini, Argento, Fulci aside, why I love Italy can be summed up in Maurizio Merli.

Get well soon.

Italy for me is looking at little glass figurines with my Grandfather.

Could be worse, but at the same time, could be better.

In Rome many years ago I drank some fifty year Old wine at a forgotten restaurant that was sublimatedly psychedelic.

I also recently spent some time with a young lady who wore a red hooded garment like the one worn by the mysterious figure in "Don't Look Now". She also emanated something of the spirit of the mouse cartoon in William's found flyer. She utterly terrified me. Scary!

Oh, you miss Peter Sotos? How about a trip down memory lane, then? "fuck you cunt! you like that, cunt! you like a pair of balls on your toungue, you damaged whore?! i'm a literary genius! lick my cock, you 10 year old waste! i'm transgressive!"

Better?
