CARCHARADON 2

Haven't you ever put something in your mouth and spat it out in disgust? If this great white wanted to eat Eric Nerhus, it would be as easy as biting on a rancid overripe strawberry - but no, here we have the brave story of how man fought back against the beast and survived. Bullshit.

carcharodon? i have a fragment of a fossil carcharodon/megalodon tooth which, while slightly less than half of the complete tooth, measures just over 6" in height; quite an impressive sight.

Haunting is precisely the word. I'm ambivalent about wildlife films - I never consciously sit down to watch one but, because of the sheer excellence of the production, quite often get hopelessly caught up. The downside is that you've seen it all. The illustration of some aspect of a species' behaviour may be revelatory (I remember one on the sexual behaviour of sparrows which was jaw-dropping) but you're visually familiar with a vast range of fauna.

The Japanese frill shark was completely different. Regular enough bit of news film but it looked - and more inexplicably FELT, and how does that work? - like it had come from another dimension. One of the most compelling things I've seen broadcast for a considerable time. Glad someone else was equally affected by it.
