I suspect, in some ways I am now ( its never too late to have a happy childhood!)
A wonderful book. And I'm sad to learn that Saw IV is said to be the last.William Bennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00072523416863877409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30752941.post-5870169776949834332007-07-11T19:32:00.000+01:002007-07-11T19:32:00.000+01:00hey william, we all know yr a fan of a certain tor...hey william, we all know yr a fan of a certain torture-porn franchise, did you see Hostel 2, and care to share any commentary about it?
--michaelmcarpiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17712177648003720677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30752941.post-52189625440728368892007-07-10T18:26:00.000+01:002007-07-10T18:26:00.000+01:00Let's say it wasn't what I expected , well worth a...Let's say it wasn't what I expected , well worth a watch ,one of my favourites of this year .Didn't make a big thing about the God/Christianity thing at first , probably because I'm not American .Won't spoil the ending but there's things that happen which usually don't in a film aimed at children .Like real life i suppose .martinmathershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16775049739138039294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30752941.post-69569521009087203322007-07-10T13:21:00.000+01:002007-07-10T13:21:00.000+01:00I think you'll quickly see why the filmmakers woul...I think you'll quickly see why the filmmakers would have been dismayed at the Narnia-style marketing. There's also a touching scene where Christian orthodoxy is rather subversively challenged - something that is extremely rare in US mainstream cinema, let alone in a so-called 'family film'.William Bennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00072523416863877409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30752941.post-8764264216853096442007-07-10T12:20:00.000+01:002007-07-10T12:20:00.000+01:00Hmm, I was actually put off from seeing this film ...Hmm, I was actually put off from seeing this film as I believed that it was from the same people behind The Chronicles of Narnia - or at least, it was certainly marketed that way. Interestingly, it seems the filmmakers criticised the advertisers for this very reason, and further reading about the film seems to suggest it doesn't hold the same pseudo-Christian background as Narnia. Shall definitely have to look out for this (as well as Babe 2 which I see is also a favourite of yours!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12869599931054662745noreply@blogger.com
