Alongside the Australian outback the Icelanic tundra is one of the most beautiful 'natural' places I've seen. We went in the middle of winter, so daylight only lasted a few hours, but was incredible and beautiful. If you fly Iceland Airways to the USA (Boston, NYC, or SF) you can get a free stopover. Fuck I sound like an advert, but you know, it is a great place.
